yep, C5500 Kodiak Monroe conversion. 6.6L Duramax Allison 1000 5spd auto
Nice truck, when it runs.
Those have proven to be pretty problematic, and it is stupid stuff that makes then not fun to own.
AIr ride seat, and exhaust brake operatre off a compressor under drivers step, the compressor is the equivelent of the POS tire pumps you plug into your cigarette lighter ( and subsequently burnup ) they frag OFTEN, rendering the seat and the exhaust brake useless.
The Duramax has issues of it's own depending on the year.
stupid routing of AC lines ensures they will be replaced evfery few years ( they rub on air cleaner box and core support causing leaks )
Trans cooler lines are secured with clips, the line pressure wears out the lands the clips hold by and the lines blow out of the trans ( resulting in major loss of ATF AND you are dead in the water till it's fixed )
just a few of the many stupid issues these trucks have......
To add insult to injury, FEW dealerships stock parts for these trucks, and there is little aftermarket support for them, meaning if you are on the road, you are down AT LEAST 24hrs waiting on parts, not good for the guy who depends on this vehicle to make his living !
But they are a blast to drive when running properly !!
