ok, Ive seen it and finally did it myself; heim joint locknut got loose and wobbled enough to almost spit out the steering joint. Poly Performance sells a weld in bung that will lock down on the threads OD like a traditional steering link, but the tube size is way too big for a steering link- they are for a Ø1.25 ID tube- thats crazy. Anybody sell one that will mate a 1 ton steering TRE to a Ø1" ID DOM tube that locks down? I cant imagine the suck when one pulls out at speed- a buddy lost one in his driveway just recently. I had one tight as fawk on friday, then after 1 ride at Callalante, it was about to spit and it had a ton of thread engagement. Lock nut just got loose, backed off and then after a good day of flogging, she was all sorts of loose. REAL loose. Guess I'll run them tack welded for now on.

What about drilling & tapping the locknut or tubing for a set screw?

How about red Loctite and an index mark that you can keep an eye on.

I think the ones Poly has are the Light Racing ones. Search around, the Light Racing ones are available in many different threads and tube IDs, much more than what I've seen listed at Poly. Also, if you want a pinch bolt tube adapter, look around. Poly sells it for about twice what others sell them for. At least start looking at some of the desert racing sites. Kartek comes to mind...

Also, Braxton asks a very valid question. If your answer is NO, then you should really consider going to a LH and RH option on the steering links.
