heims on steering

i know a ton of people running heims on their steering and i've never heard of them having trouble at inspection time....

can't tell you if it's legal or not, but if it isn't legal then it is overlooked every time here in wilmington....

2nd question.

What is the best method for attaching the drag link to the tie-rod. I want to keep the drag link on the top of the knuckle. Or i would just keep the stock steering.

Best method? a hi-steer setup. Take your pick on what vendor.

I'd never seen it done this way, but it seemed OK to me. I drilled a 3/4 inch hole in the tie rod (1.25" OD, 0.219" wall), stuck a bolt in there and welded it up solid on both sides. I highly recommend using a DL on the pitman arm end. They can take the high angles better than a heim.
