Hey fellow NC wheelers,
I thought i would post for the first time since moving to NC with a Job relo. Funny thing is i have been a member since 11/2007 when i join to show my brother (concord, nc) that there was people and places to wheel, but now i am finally here myself. I always thought this was a great forum.
I am in the process of buying a house in Ruffin, hope all goes well. I would have to say the wheeling is different that what i am use to in denver Co in the mountains. I look forward to meeting some of you guys soon (anyone near Eden?)
Currently my Jeep is still in CO with my family until i get this house issue resolved. quick note 94 YJ, SOA w/ 2" bds springs 4.56 gears running 35 mtrs.
Will possibly have some questions as time goes by, like will my jeep pass inspection, etc.
Maybe if i figure haw to post pics, i will get some up

Welcome to NC. If I understand correctly, you lived in the mile high?

Welcome to NC , I live near Ruffin . Theres a lot of four wheeler trails locally but not much for 4wds . Theres good stuff a few hours away , but not much like Colorado . What in the world brought you to Ruffin ?

Welcome to NC! You have come at a perfect time. We have a big ride/event going on in Lincoln County, in an area called Pumpkin Center, Near Lincolnton NC There will be several hundred if not a thousand people there!

It's a great place to meet people and have fun. You can get a good idea of what we run to take the break out of the trails.

As you probably know we have a upcoming events section. Not many weekends go by that there is not a group going somewhere to wheel.
Check out this thread to see where we go.

Disregard the Tellico section. As of now it is closed to wheeling.

You may also check into joining a local club. I have the privilege of belonging to the three biggest clubs in NC. Only one is up for membership at anytime. The others are by invite only. The one I speak of is The Carolina Trail Blazers. This is our 40th year and we are one of the oldest if not the oldest club in Southern Four Wheel Drive Association. We have regular rides each month, usually on the second weekend of the month. Here's a link to our website

You will find as you already know, wheelin out this way is a little different. Traction is way different. Your setup will do pretty good. I have a few friends running your combination of drive train and tires. But guaranteed, you will find the weak links in any of it!

Again welcome to NC, and to NC4X4 (as a resident) Hope to see you out and about sometime soon!

Welcome! You're gonna hate the summers here. (From fellow CO folk.)

thanks for the warm welcome!

I lived in a little town just north of Denver (Lochbuie, CO)

I had a chance to relo to a sister plant in danville. both sides of my family either live in NC or VA, it was a chance to move closer to family after about 15 years

Sounds great, i se if i can make it, my jeep is still in CO but maybe my bone stock geo tracker 4x4 is up for the challenge.

yeah i know, i grew up in VABeach and NC so i remember how it can get here
Welcome to the most humid place you'll ever live :)
times 2, i came out for an interview in july and sweated like a stuck pig.
Welcome to NC, Ruffin is a big town near the metropolis of Wentworth (county seat) where I reside.
funny, i asked a few co workers where downtown Ruffin was and got laughs for replies, i must of drove past the PO many times not knowing that was it.

hey by the way, i have done some research and i am still not sure my jeep will pass inspection with the lift i got.
2" springs in SOA, 1" shackles and 1" BL

yea or nea?

is VA going to bust my chops with this setup?

I was thinking about going SUA and going back to 33" but i really like this setup even though it is kinda high, it has always done what i have asked it to do, the driver being the only limit.

Not sure about VA, but in NC you are OK. Biggest thing with NC is the emissions. But, there are ways...........nuf said

It's a '94, so unless they do a visual to see if everything is there, he shouldn't have a problem. If he were closer, I could get it done for him.

Lochbuie, Denver. That's like saying Boulder is suburb of Denver.

Son lives near Edgewater park in Denver proper.

I am looking to possibly get some stuff back and forth to Denver. How and when do you think your Jeep will be heading east?
