Hello everyone. My name is Matt and this is my first post
My friend Michael sent me here. He took me out to Uwharrie yesterday in his s10 (the big green one with 49's on it ) Had a blast.
Anyways, I'm 28 years old and am service manager at a local race shop here in Concord. I put our banner in my sig, let me know if that is OK. We have an AWD dyno that will be finished in about 2 weeks so that might interest some of you with full time AWD.
I have only been in the area for a few months and I grew up in Florida so rock climbing is very new to me. I have had CJ's almost all my life but only mud to drive them in, no mountains (or hills haha). I think the highest elevation in Florida is the interstate.
My current Jeep is a completely stock and worn out 1980 CJ5 4 cylinder 4 speed manual. I just picked it up a couple months ago for my wife Jenny. My goal is to put it down for the winter and have it ready for mild wheeling come springtime.
I can build a nasty 3000GT, but I have to admit this will be my first jeep that I'm starting from scratch and I have no idea what to do. Fortunately Michael is willing to help me out Please forgive any stupid questions I might ask along the way.
I'm very excited about this forum. Thanks for the opportunity to become a member and thanks for sharing your knowledge. If I can be any help to anyone, please let me know.
Thanks,
Matt Brannon
