Trans won't go into overdrive. I'm overheating and need to get home tomorrow. Could it b a vacuum problem. I changed oil and now this is happening. Filter was a pain and I accidentally pulled a plug wire and notice a bad Vac line. I need suggestions pls.

You are probably home by now, but if not I'm only an hour away if you need help. 423-737_0265

My thoughts would be to try to fix the overheating problem such as wiring the electric fan staight to the battery and driving slow like 45 mph to get home and worry about overdrive later.

vacuum for AW4?...didnt think vacuum ever came into play on those. The AW4 shifts with solenoids, maybe the OD one isnt working, or the torqu converter lockup solenoid. Its a "simple" electrical problem, you can check thru the TCU connector. Oh, first try unplugging the TCU (underdash, the passenger side knee panel), see if you can manually get OD...the TCU only controls shift points.
There should also be a power/comfort mode switch to the right of the steering wheel. Make sure its in power mode, comfort mode makes more heat in the trans. With the TCu unplugged, power mode is the default.

Call me & I'll come get you with the trailer...

Leaving now. I'll just go slow and figure it out later. Y is there a 10a fuse under pass kick panel.

Here's the story....Sat morning I changed oil, installed new trac bar and worked on installing a radio. I started wiring it into a painless plug so not to cut any wires but ran out of time and just unplugged the harness from the radio, not the plug in the dash.

Now when I drive it won't go into od, causing overheating. As I started out of Ashville I couldn't think of what would cause this, but I reached down and pulled the factory plug loose from the painless plug and now no problems. Ran like a champ all the way home w/air on high. At least I have it driving good again, but I hate chasing electrical gremlins.
