does anybody around unicoi work on toyota stock carbs. i cant tune a carp to save my life. this is the 3rd carb ive tryied to get to work on my toyota

What kind of Toyota? What year ect.? You may have trash(rust) in the tank getting in the carb(and or fuel filter). Very very common on the older Toyotas.

If it is just a tuning problem, they are really not that hard to tune, and the carbs are good carbs for the most part. You check for any vacum leaks? Lots of good info online, let us know what vehicle it is, and what it is doing. I will try to point you int he right direction.

carb

it is a 86 toyota with a 22r. engine set up - header , 9.7 copression pistons .30 over, gasket ported and polished head, with lc engineering street cam,lc engineering rockerarms ,and valve spring, also has 3 angle valve job. got a rebuild asian carb for it. its having a hard time starting and idleing ruff, want go down below 1000 rpm at idle, and when you drive it does fine until you come to a stop then idles around 12-1500 rpm.got to adjust choke all the way off to get it butterfly to open up then it want idle even after adjusting the idle screw.took all smog stuff off it. think its sucking air. you can spray it with carb cleaner around the base and it revs up. but ive changer the gaskets 3 time and still doning it. think my spacer might be cracked, dont know cant tell by looking at it. ran better when i had a holley on it but that truck wouldnt start when cold and the stock carb that came with the truck run good for a while then craped out sso got a new one. i cant tune a carb to save my life . so im at aa lose.

The are a few good write-ups for adjusting those carbs, but you need to fix that vacum leak first. And is that stock carb big enough for that work done to the rest of the airflow?

And sorry I forgot to answer your first question, but if you want someone that can tune that carb, especially for performance, you need to get ahold of a guy in Taylorsville, that has an old school Toyota Performance/Racing shop.

BRD or something like that. Dude knew his stuff, I'd pay him whatever he wanted to tune a carb for me. I bought two carbs from him Webers for a 74 Celica 18R and one for an 80 Corolla with a 3TC and it made those cars run unbelieveable.

got everthing fixed no vacuum leaks and now it dont want to start and it surges anround 2000rpm just shoot me .
