help converting 99 cherokee 2wd to 4wd

I have a 99 xj sport 2wd that i recently wrecked and have to replace the front axle on. I am looking to convert it to 4wd so i need to know if the front axle, diff, and transfer case off of a 91 cherokee laredo will bolt directly on to mine or what major mods would i have to do if any?

As a direct bolt-in, no. Your transmission is the limiting factor as the tailshaft section is different. You may have to swap tailshafts or even transmissions, depending on what you have.

Other than that little detail, you'll need the stuff for the slip shaft in the front axle. Everything else should just slide right in. Just be sure the front axle gear ratio matches the rear.
