I picked up a 289 and tranny the other day to put in a 50 ford coupe. I am trying to identify what tranny it is.the number on case is C5AP 7006 A. From what I can find that means it is a 65 full size ford automatic and the a means it is the first version. I found that that year they made a MX FX and I believe FMX. It has aluminum bell and tail housings and cast case. Thanks for any help. I have pictures as well if it will help to post them.

Not looking to build just gonna have a mild cam in 289 and cars is just gonna be a cruiser. I do have another question. There is a brass fitting broke off in case at front of case on passenger side a few inches below the hard line coming out. Do you know what that's for. I'm thinking it was pressure line and the one above it is vent line and the one coming from rear of case is a return line. Does this sound correct? I'll post a pic of it in a min.
