Help identify part 5.7L TBI

[89wrangler]

Anyone know what this part is / does / goes? As stated in another thread I am installing a 5.7 TBI motor in my YJ. I recieved it as a bare motor with all the parts in a couple if boxes. I will be using a Howell TBI system on this so I have removed all the uneccessary sensor and wiring from the stock system. I am down to this thing and the alternator wire in another thread. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know where it would normally screw in to? There is a threaded hole on the right side of the block down next to dipstick, but other than that don't see anywhere else it would have gone.

It screws in the block, exactly where you said

As others have said, it is the knock sensor, and it screws right into the side of the block where you said.
