Hi,

I am new to the forum and am currently looking to get back into a wrangler. I used to have a 2007 JKU, but since it was a brand new 26k vehicle I never had the heart to wheel it like I intended...never even put it in 4low.

I am now looking for an LJ preferably stock with plans to mod...33s and a lift (not sure the height). I am posting b/c I was hoping someone in charlotte would be kind enough to give me some advice on the aforementioned setup and take me for a ride if they have something similar as I have never owned a lifted wrangler with oversized tires.

Thanks to anyon that takes time to reply!

LJ is a good choice. The longer wheelbase makes them a little more comfortable on road and feels more stable on steep trails offroad. The rear overhang is longer than a TJ so you smack the rear bumper and gas tank skid a good bit...

They're still relatively expensive. I bought mine in 2012. It was a repo and was a couple grand cheaper than anything else I found that wasn't salvage title.

Mine has 2" OME lift and 1" body lift on 33s. It worked pretty good stock and with gears, lockers, and arms it impresses me for what it is. If you plan to stay low, you need to do something with the belly pan. It hangs on everything.

I appreciate the feedback.

I think I found one with 110k miles for 11.5k. Not sure it is a great deal, but it is in excellent condition apparently. I have seen some on craigslist with about 80k in really good condition go for 12k.

Awesome build. I wish I had the skillset to do that stuff. Great time lapse video on the bumper as well!

Most of it is just bolt on stuff... no real skill needed. Get a few friends who will work for beer and you've got it made.
