Since yall are waiting on it and no one else has chimed in.

NC4x4 dosent condone illegal wheeling
Nor wheel you get any info on illegal places on here. However you will get a hard time for asking and posting up things about it.

The list given is all the legal places, it sucks I know aint anything close enough to amke a day trip for me.

Forest Games is in Danbury. They are 'closed' now I think, but from what I have heard the owner will still let people ride for 'donations'. He used to have some decent trails for stock to mild rigs (some hard stuff too if you make it). He's at the very end of Otis Woods road, take him some cash or a pack of Sam Adams (his beverage of choice) and he'd probably let you ride.

sorry man, Uwharrie and Callalantee is about as "local" as it gets for us. URE is closer but its closed this time of year, Cally is just on the other side of Boone. damn good wheelin up there, prolly really tough right now with the weather.

I don't know about that place in danbury but I'm sure its sketchy at best. prolly like that place across from white's junk yard. i went there to look but didn't wheel, its just an acre of mud and ruts anyway, not worth the trouble. I've heard of a few other places up towards mt. airy but I'm pretty sure its just power line trails that are always illegal. thats all I know. if you find the guy in danbury let me know what he says, I'd like to see it if he allows it.

Any word on who owns the land in Danbury?.. Id like to get in contact with him. I agree everyone i know ask me to go 4x4n but im not about to do any illegal wheeling. ( Done it and it isnt worth it. ). But if that guy would allow it id send money his way.

Thanks

I think his name is Tom New. I looked for a phone number a good while back, I don't think it is listed though. If anyone goes to Hanging Rock or lives up that way you could stop by and ask if he would still allow trucks. He *probably* would, but I can't say for sure since it has been at least a couple years since I have asked.

I would expect to pay about $20/rig to ride, I think thats what he told me back last time I asked. He only lets "friends and family" ride though, so he considers most people friends... Has something to do with EPA issues. They didn't have bridges built over the river so he had to shut it down.
