Help me figure out the value of my Zuk

I'm considering selling my Samurai since I've owned it three years and have never actually been wheeling in it, but I have no clue what it's worth, so I come to you. I got it bone stock for painting a guy's truck, and most of the other stuff is second-hand or new and installed by me. Here we go...

87 Suzuki Samurai
1.3L carb'd engine (I do have most parts to convert to 1.3 fuel injection)
Original paint, mild body rust, frame is good
4.5" Sky SPOA perches (New) w/3" lift springs and Trail Tough shackles
Sky Crossover steering (New)
ZOR Snatch w/5:1 gears and ZOR brass shifter sheet (stock shift pattern)
Trail Tough t-case skid plate
Fully rebuilt front axle with gusset kit (New), 5.12 Sidekick aluminum 3rd w/Lock-Rite (New)
Hybrid rear (Sidekick center, Sami tubes) w/5.12 and Lock-Rite
New extended stainless steel brake lines (4), front rotors and pads
A really sliced and abused set of 34/9.50/15 TSLs w/spare

Everything in the drivetrain with the exception of the engine and rear axle has been torn apart, inspected, and either rebuilt or replaced.

EXTRAS! Can't keep this stuff if I sell the Zuk.

80-something Toyota axles, disassembled but complete.
NEW Genuine Gear 5.29 gears and install kits w/spools front and rear
1.6L 'Kick engine. Can't remember mileage, but was running and didn't smoke when I pulled it.
1.6 engine harness, power steering (pump and box), and fuel tank.

The motor needs a tune-up, it needs a front driveshaft (I have a rear from a 4Runner to cut down), and the interior needs some serious help. No rear bumper or shocks. Needs a windshield frame also. I'm sure I've forgotten some other stuff, but none of it is major.

I might even consider selling the 4 ton Hudson trailer I have for an extra $1800. Hook and haul it all away!

Help me out guys!

Does it run and drive? If not, then that is going to hurt you.

You state that the motor needs a tune up. If it doesn't run right, it could lead some people to believe there is more wrong with it than a tune up will fix, depending on how it sounds.

Depending on how it runs $1800-$2500 imo. And that's only someone knows what the parts are worth. The zuk alone may be worth $1500-$1800. The kind of shape the body is in as far as paint/rust/damage goes weighs in a lot on a zuk too.

To someone who knows what all the parts are worth, you'd come out alright. But, to the average guy, just looks like a 4x4 that's gonna need some work. I'm just going on the prices I've seen and what I've paid for them before.

I agree with this.

If the motor only needs a tune-up to get it running 100%, then I would do it. The return on that invest of time and money will be huge. Any potential buyer will view a motor that doesn't run right as a big unknown and risk.

I would also put the front driveshaft in. That is a big red flag on a lot of rigs for sale. A lot of time people like to act like you just need to bolt the front DS in, but they have been too lazy to do so, but in reality the vehicle needs an expensive modified DS to work with the large angles due to the amount of lift the rig has.

I wish laziness were a factor in the driveshaft not being in there, but it was the financial side. I lifted it knowing the original shaft wasn't long enough any more, and I'm not a fan of driveshaft spacers. I guess I'll get the 4Runner shaft cut down, installed, and tune it up. Everything else can ride as-is.

That is what I would do. I think you will have a whole lot more luck selling it with those items completed. Good luck!

I've been running driveshafts spacers on the front and rear driveshafts of my Sami for several years without any problems. I was skeptical and hesitant to try them at first, but they were much cheaper than paying to have my driveshafts lengthened, so I figured I would give them a shot.

I'm having to go to the 4Runner shafts for the obnoxious angles I've created, and a larger u-joint doesn't hurt either. I don't know if I'm going to sell it, I just have a hard time justifying it being in my yard doing nothing for three years.

3" lift springs SPOA is a lot of lift. You could sell the lift springs, and put stock ones back on to help with your driveshaft angles.
