Help me need to remove aftermaket security

my girl friends crv has an aftermarket alarm syatem on it. it was givin to her by her aunt who lives in new york and had an after market security system put on it. simply put it needs to go. where do i start? where is the brain of this thing so i can remove it?

thats the thing is her aunt just paid someone to put it on and does no know brand or anything. there is no info on it. where do i start? like where do they generally install them so i can at least get a look at this thing to try and determine brand and such

Odds are the brain of the thing is under the dash on the drivers side. That's where I'd start.

Yeah start on the Driver side under the dash, It should be a box or board, with wires that are spliced into factory harness, Depending on what type of system it is. It could look like a bull horn mounted under the hood.

Look for this type equipment

the box at the top is the brain

the starter wire at the switch will probably be cut an looped throught the security system, dont forget to hook that back up.
