New bars.JPG

smaller royal blue.JPG...passengers.
I am wanting to add some more bars to the rear of my cage for a little more overhead protection.
These would start at the height of the main hoop and turn 45* down and out to the triangular rear bars, intersecting them at the middle.
Here is my idea, what does everyone think?

Here is another view of the top of the cage now.

A, That jeep is awesome. And I don't even like jeeps. I assume it's a commando-cj bastard?
B, I personally would get rid of the triangular rear bars and run the new bars into that node at the c-pillar at the same angles you have them now.
C, I've got a 1.75" tube die/bender here you can use if you need.

A. Thanks. Its a bullnose Commando with a cj clip and the rockers and rear lower 1/4 panels trimmed.
B. I was thinking the same, but they are already there and fully welded. I wonder how much of a difference they make?
C. Thanks. I will keep that in mind.

Are you into symmetry, or you don't care-so long as it works? You have a couple of choices...triangle in the front half of the rear, and 'X' between the smaller triangles-I'm still trying to figure in gussets- . Or cut out the rear triangles, run your tubing front to rear to continue the 'look' and maybe add a couple of cross/ladder steps for strength - gussets would be easier to figure in. - Just a thought, kinda hard to see in the darker pic. T.J.

Love the pic with cameron in his jeep in the background. when did you take the second pic though? its pretty awesome! but yeah, no input on your situation from me haha
