I think the search is not working with my computer tonight, Can somebody help me find the thread about what people take camping / wheeling with them? I am making a list of a few spare parts, items, and tools that I want to pack when I go wheeling, and I was hoping to take some other people's idea. I am positive I saw the thread on this forum, if not it would be a good idea if we make one

Thanks in advance

Was this what you have in mind? What to bring on a wheelin' trip by Dick Quinlan :D

lol, that was not the thread I was looking for. Maybe it was on another forum, but it was a thread started by a guy wanting to make a list for things to take camping, and it escalated from there.
I take a prepared box with different kinds of oils, fluids, and since I work/run a hardware store a made a box of misc bolts, different sizes and lengths for each size. (I even have the metric separated from the standard :) )
I keep adding every time I am on the trail and someone breaks something, if I do not have something to fix it, I add it to my list (within reason). I was wanting some other ideas of what people have learned to take.

p.s. I hardly ever drink, so I am always forgetting the alcohol. :banghead:

Hmm misread your wording. Maybe it's time for bed. (I thought you said "not one thing on this list has EVER been used)
But always smart to carry TP when wheeling. That whole "If it's three, wipe with me" thing just doesn't work out in practice.

on a more serious note, tailor it as needed for your vehicle. Since I'm to cheap to get around to replacing the turdy five, I carry spare axle shafts and bits to fix them on the trail. Haven't snapped mine, but given out 4 shafts

crystal.... thanks for the links, that is what I need, stuff just like that :)

upnover... goood list! some people want to be prepared, I like to be over prepared.

chris, good point, did not think about that

I'll add onto camping.......

Propane grill/pot/pan.
Dry firewood - Check the weather of the area before you go if possible. Got SOL once, couldn't find any dry wood.... Lot of effort for a fire that never got going.

Camping chairs.
Power invertor.

my somewhat list to add

camping, (besides the obvious)

two tents!! learned my lession
my hammock (yea, im spoiled)

I dont have my list here, but It is the start

Damn, I can't believe I forgot.......

A large caliber pistol/rifle/shotgun..... just in case, you know shit happens. Robbers, theives, bears, snakes, wild possum, swamp rabbit, empty beer cans, the norm.

Don't worry about the swamp rabbit. Motengators, them critters are vicious.:flipoff2:

Duct tape, lots and lots of duct tape. Seen tires pieced back together with enough duct tape.

Don't forget the Venomous DUCKS!!!
