Hey I'm Chris, I go to NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville and joined NC4x4 about 8 months ago and just figured out today that I can't post because I'm not 21. Guess I should of looked in this forum too not just Tech. I haven't met any of you in person that I know of, but would someone mind sponsoring me.
Chris
Well, I just moved down here from Raleigh, to go to school. So far I have finished two classes and have a 4.0, I want to have some kind of a career in the automotive field. I mostly enjoy actually building the car or truck, and not racing and stuff. I originally joined because I was helping my girlfriend build her 95 Ford Explorer for some offroad, but she now has 2 cracked head gaskets and more problems than its worth so is buying a car.
I drove a Black 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT that had for sale written on all the windows, but as I was leaving town a couple weeks ago someone hit me. That car is in the shop now getting a new door and paint, while I am driving my dad's 2000 Mazda Protege and he has the rental.
Welcome to the board, Look closly into the manufacturer programs they offer. I went to the BMW STEP program. Thye are good programs and you can make pretty decent money after a few years in the field working for a dealer. (That is if you go for a import luxury line.) Might as well work on peoples cars who have extra money to spend on them.
How's that eclipse wheel? LOL Might try to catch a ride with someone here on the board next time they're goin' wheelin'. That way they can get to know you a bit and then sponser you.
I am looking at porsche but don't know about letting them choose where in the country i move to. I'd love to ride along or possibly even have my own rig by then but i don't usually have a whole lot of time outside of school and i go back home fairly often on the weekends to see my girlfriend
Sorry it's taken so long to get back. I know with the BMW program, you get to choose the dealer you work at or can be sponsered by one. (Meaning they will pay for the education and you go work there after graduation.) You talk to them before going to the program. I'm from CO and was at the Florida BMW program and the dealers that were hiring were all east of the Mississippi. I think Mercedes is the same way, you just have to know a bit of Diesel technology for them. Not sure if Nascar tech has a diesel program. Also, have you looked under the hood of a porche? Not much room if you ask me. (But fun to road test when you're done fixing it!)
