Where can I get a National Welders unimix (75/25) tank swapped out tomorrow morning??

Ran out tonight, and both my regular places are closed on Saturday. :(

Yeah, but it's thoroughgood/thoroughbred/whatever....same as TSC...they might take my (owned) national bottle, but I doubt my LWS will take their bottle when it's done...and I hate to drop two-three hundred bucks on another tank right now.

You know, and I know you know, that any of your gasses will not run out in the middle of the week, they only run out just before 5 on Friday, and won't leave enough time to get there to swap em out. Been there, done that!
So best advice I can give you is call on a friend who has some. you most likely won't use too much this weekend and someone close has some they don't need this weekend. Again, done that , been there. I remember a good friend helping me out in just the same way, and at one point, I was able to return the exact favor back to him.

Did you find a place. You can borrow mine and just replace the gas. I get mine at Cruco's they are open on Saturday morning.

Thanks for the offer Dave....

I called up Cruco this morning, they do have national....so I'm good to go...

BUT..[[[edit -- retract what I said about CWIS]]]

checked with them side by side my old "160", which turns out to be like a 145, is right at 3" shorter than the new 160.

We'll see what monday brings...

I have retracted what I said in post #6, after talking to both companies today.

That tank, that Cruco said was NOT a 160, according to Praxair, is a 160 (and yes, out on the dock, in the 160 area, there are about 4 different tank sizes, but they are all loaded to 160cuft). Praxair won't buy back tanks anymore, so I just got an exchange.

Cruco...I would have just kept the 2nd tank, I was thinking about buying an 80 anyway, but when I got it back to my shop on Saturday and hooked up the regulator, it only had 850psi in it (should have been 2000+). That happens, have had it before (bad valve or whatever). So I took it back...Told the guy about the Praxair deal, and how they (Praxair) wouldn't buy back tanks anymore...so he offered a full refund on my Saturday tank.

Both, IMO, still good to deal with. BTW Praxair (CWIS) has lowered exchange price. It was a few cents under $35, Cruco is $35. Praxair was $50 last year (I guess that might vary, and they are all up and down about the same?).

From dealing with National and others in the past, they have different price scales, so if you are happy with what you paid, keep your ticket for future reference!
