im looking to change the 2.5 4 cylinder to a 4.0 inline 6 and need to know if it will bolt to the 5 speed manual 4x4 train that's in it or what else I should do to it I want a daily driver that will be a weekend warrior
 
Might as well just sell it and buy you one that already has a inline six in it. Or buy some 4.88-5.13s. By time you go throigh all the bs it will be easier and most likely cheaper to go that route
 
Man, if only we had a section for General Tech types of questions... somebody should get on that.

he is 100% right. I lived this same shit in my 2.5l 1990 YJ. Honestly that little 4-banger is awesome with the right gears. Off-road anyhoo.
 
X2 or 3 or whatever place in line I am..... Sell it and buy a 6cyl. It'd be cheaper and easier, but if you insist then your gonna wanna swap out your trans too.... You probably have an ax5 and while it will bolt up its not gonna last long.
