Little birdie told me that you guys were working on something very unique and different that most people could admire.... Post up the pics!!!!

pics.

this is a door latch on a jeep fitted with a hydro rear swing out door. The hydro setup was letting the door get loose. Needed a way to latch it securely and a way to unlock it from the inside. So we came up with a gear shift for a bike. Shift to second and it unlocks the door. Flip back to 1st and door latch will lock. Not crazy fab but it did take some thinking.. It is also easy to get to if it need servicing.

yeah, though I'm going to need to dig some up. I use a wheelchair, thus the raised roofline and seemingly overcomplicated rear mechanism that this thread refers to. It's got a wheelchair lift that drops out the rear; I get in that way & hop over to the driver's seat (which lifts & swivels). My chair stays in the back.

Now that is awesome!! I like the raised roofline! thats got serious form and function. Where did the top come from? Is it custom?

Thanks :)

The top is a frankenstein creation from the original LJ top + a TJ top + frame components + a little extra of the same material. It was assembled by an upholstery shop in Manassas, VA (I'm originally from VA, but in Greensboro for grad school).

amazing. thats awesome you dont let a handicap keep you out of the sport.

Scott, it was a privilege working on your Jeep! Thanks for your trust with a very special vehicle. We know this Jeep means a lot to you! Thanks again. Your Hot Dog Guy at M&M Offroad.

i live right down the road from you scott, have seen this thing parked at your complex for some time now. had no idea you were on the board, anyway, that is a very nice, well thought out jeep!

I will have to show this to my wife. She's an Occupational Therapist. The OT catch-phrase is "Getting you back to the business of Living". Looks like that's exactly what M&M did for you! Excellent out-of-the-box thinking and beautiful craftsmanship.
