HF 3000lb Camo Winch On Sale - again

Buddy has one, has had issues with the remote and the solenoid.

Still for the pricetag, good deal.

I tried to use one on my CJ5 guess how long that lasted??*POOF* all the magic smoke came right out of it.....................Oh well.

I wonder how long it would last just using it to pull stuff up on my trailer

I have one, it would do ok for a light load it says 3000 lbs but that might be a stretch. Maybe a snach block would help with the bigger loads. It has enough balls to completely lift my Polaris 700 Sportsman off the ground when looped over a branch.

Like the other post here stated the wireless is a joke and total POS. I ditched mine and went with a old hand held Warn switch I had laying around. I also moved the solenoid off the winch and into a waterproof box (exterior electric box for exterior outlets). Good winch, now find the 20% off coupon and the manager will usually knock that off the sale price.

wow so that makes them $40.
Hm very tempting to just use around the shop for lifting stuff.

I don't have a color printer. Will a black and white printed one still work?

Turns out for $10 they will warranty it against any and all breakage for two years.Heck that would be worth using it to death for two years.

Hmmm...I need to scope out the ATV and see if there's a good mounting point for this. Sounds like a POS from what you guys are saying, but I only ride a few times a year and it would be a nice extra piece of assurance.

No, Not A POS the wireless setup is the bad part. It could easily be eliminated with a hardwired switch from lowes or any auto parts store.

I like mine and would recommend it

I'm totally surprised to see any good reviews of these things. I just bought one last week to mount on my trailer to pull up non running vehicles. I got it all wired up and hooked it to the truck and it would barely move it on flat ground. I unhooked it and grabbed onto the hook and I was able to bog down the motor just pulling on it. Maybe I got a dud...?

Hmm.. maybe.. I bought a masterlock 2000lb winch at walmart 3-5 years ago and other than the overheat switch dying (wired that out), It pulled a jeep on a trailer without axles, a old cutlass onto a trailer, my jeep out of ditches like 5 times in the snow, pulled my engine lift on dirt with motors, dragged transmissions.. and its still pulling. IDK about horror freight stuff. But thats me.. sounds like you got one that has a weak motor? exchange it if under 30 days..

Check your wiring. Sounds like you've got a bad connection or inadequately sized wire somewhere. Or you might have just gotten a dud.

JUNK, if you plan on using it for a car trailer winch. Solenoids are the same you'd use for fog lights and the contacts welded themsleves together, just about pulled the drag truck off the front of the trailer. Complete junk, threw mine in the scrap pile. BTW, my drag truck i was winching on to the trailer weights 3500lbs. Chris.
