Whats the deal with the RubiTrux out at High Country? I drove by there today and saw about 5 halved TJs out front that weren't there last week when I drove by. Are they starting up something to compete with the AEV Brute?

I think the Brute looks mo betta

they are just making a couple because some people showed interest in having the "jeep truck" thing with out having to go through the hassel of the frame mods and stuff that go into the brute

It's a rubi unlimited with a halfcab top? Or that's what it looks like. More of a cj8 than a brute competitor. I must admit, I'm a fan of the brute--or at least the concept.

Yeah, I think you're right about the top. I guess I'm not old enough to know about the CJ-8's so the Brute was the first thing I thought of...

High Country does alot of mods for new car dealers. Most likely those where brought in by some dealer and after being finished they will be headed to the showroom floor. Its sad a dealership with a shop full of mechanics can not do a few basic mods on there own.

Ive been to High Country and looked at the RubiTrux.

Its just an unlimited with the rear seat removed, and a Halfcab top installed. There are about 3 more Unlimited that are sitting there awaiting the RubiTrux "installation".

I didnt notice if the half cab top went all the way to the floor though, so they might have to install some sort of firewall between the new passenger compartment and the "bed" of the truck. They had one there with a full Rhinolined bed, but other than that the other ones were just the stock paint.

The Brute is definitely mo betta, but its also mo expensive, and mo hard to to...

The correct term this section (top to tub) is "bulkhead"... just like the old Squid terminology

They had one there with a full Rhinolined bed,

Doubtful, since they're a LINE-X installer

RubitruX.
wrangler unlimited
halfcab removable top
COMPLETELY sealed bulkhead
all rear 'stuff' removed
all uneeded holes sealed
Line-Xed (not that Rhinoline crap) 'beds'

A cheaper (by about 20 grand) alternative to a Brute.

There's 4 complete ones now...brown, black, white, and a red...
