high idle

Why does my psd go into high idle in cold weather?
 
helps it warm up a little faster, i assume its a 6.0 they don't like being driven cold. i have one also there is a mod were u put in a switch to activate the high idle.
 
99 7.3 actually. I can't remember my last one ever doing it. The only real difference is this one is a strait drive and my last one was an automatic. Both were 99's.
 
My auto had a chip/program, I wonder if that had anything to do with it.
 
i think it could have somthing to do with the strategy on the ECU. not sure about that tho.
 
programmers often screw the ebpv up. put it on a switch & make an exhaust brake out of it. it will throw a ghost code but will not turn on your engine light.

I'm as lost as last years Easter egg.
 


I have a schematic on how to wire this into the foot pedal or works off the switch. you nee a couple of led lights as indicators & a couple diodes so it doesn't backfeed. I will look for it..
