High mileage to the next level

I suppose just as there are lemons that can barely make it off the lot, there are these examples of synergy. Although, I know I'd be nervous, that thing has gotta be a time bomb just waiting to go, especially considering most gassers I have let go around 250k. That said, this is a perfect example as to why the 4.0 is revered as bomb proof.

Hell i say.... My first I6 had 3k on the engine ran it about a month after i blew a hole the size of a baseball in the block but didnt know shit still ran tho just knocked pretty bad!

Good stuff, my 2nd XJ I bought with 209k (89 model) on it from the original owner (elderly woman) I lifted it within a week and beat the hell out of it, including submerging the engine completely. I changed the oil every 3000, beat it hard for 30k miles, then sold it. in those 30k miles I replaced the trans, tcase, and both axles, but that engine never gave me a problem. Sold it at just shy of 250k and it ran perfect, no misses, surprisingly no vacuum leaks, nothing. No doubt if you take good care of it, itll run forever.

I've seen a BMW that still had the crosshatch in the cylinder bores at 495k so no doubt it would run 600k. (providing it was still maintained). We had it apart to reseal it while the car was having new frame rails put in it (because they were rusted almost all the way through.) We had done every service, every tire, since it was new. Heck the guy that resealed the engine did the PDI on it when it was new!

had a civic hatch with 468k on it.......bought it from import auto salvage where it was salvaged and sold at auction after getting bumped in a parking lot totaled it via insurance company lol.... $50 fender, $50 bumper, $5 side marker and it was good to go. I ran it to only 475k-ish and pulled the motor to swap in a GSR...
