ok ive got an 86' toyota that im sas'd with rears up front 6 leaf pack, trail gear high steer, 58" tundra springs out back, 37" goodyears and a sky hanger and banana shackle kit and i have the axle where i want it so there isnt an option to move the hanger back but my pitman arm is close to hitting the tie rod when the tires are straight so i have 2" of up travel

i know i can relocate my steering box forward but is this my best option? or what else can i do? thanks

if I'm thinking correct your stock pitman arm has a bend in it that points it down. you can buy straight ones from allpro or other places like that. i actually cut and welded mine, but i spent the time to bevel both sides to a point and ran a bunch of passes till it was filled all the way back to factory size and have wheeled the piss out of it with no probs. good luck

I don't belive chaning out your pitman arm is going to help in this situation. Move the box forward and never have to mess with it again.

Yeah I'm just gonna relocate the box it seems easy and cheap amd strong

does anybody have a link to a write up on moving the steering box? I have heard a lot about it and was curious as to what all is involved.
