High Steer Question

I just installed Hi-Steer on my 79 Yota. Now the pass. front tire is out of camber. The top of the tire sticks out further than the bottom. There is a good noticeable difference. Is there any way to fix that? Also, the drag link hits the pass. side leaf spring, but I'm guessing that's because of the added height from the axle shims, so I'm gonna have to pull those out.

Since there is no way to adjust the camber on your truck, I'd say what you're seeing is the tire flexing due to the toe being wrong.
SInce the top sticks out, try backing in a straight line, enough for the tire to make a complete revolution or two, and see if it swap, and now the bottom out, and top in.
when trying to set the toe, if the weight is on the tires, the rim moves, the tire flexes, and you measurement is off.

If your draglink rubs when the truck is at rest, what'll happen when the truck flexes?? some use a flat pitman arm when installing the IFS box. the angle at which you mount the box matters

camber can be adjusted with knuckle shims can't it? If it is indeed camber and not toe. By putting a thicker shim at the bottom of the knuckle, that would push the bottom of the tire out more wouldn't it?

From my last toyota axle assembly, the knuckle shims are used to set bearing preload, changing shims would affect the preload on the bearings, and may negatively affect their life. If it truley is out of whack camber, the axle is bent. It's not uncommon for a toy axle to bend just after the knuckle ball, hence why they sell gussets for them. The only good way to find the real answer, is to pay someone with an alignment rack.

well, i messed with it a lil today. i think it looked that way because of the way the tire was turned and the fact that the toe was out.
