Official Hill Climb Rules and Regulations
All rules are subject to change at anytime during the Race Series
Event Coordinators will make all final decisions for their respective event
Qualifying
* Competitors will draw numbers to determine the order for qualifying.
* Each competitor will complete 1 qualifying run.
* If the 1st qualifying run is a DNF or a Timer Failure, the competitor will be offered a 2nd qualifying run.
* Based on qualifying times, drivers will be divided equally into 3 classes : Class A and Class B and Class C. (1 extra competitor will be added to Class B, 2 extra competitors will be split between Class A and Class C)
* Competitors will have the option to pay an additional $20 to move up to another Class.
* Additional $20 upgrade fees will be applied to the Total Payout at the current event.
* Qualifying time will determine the race order... slowest to fastest... slowest time will run first.
Scoring and Payout
* Class A, Class B and Class C will each complete 2 official race runs.
* Winner of all Classes will be determined by the Best Race Time.
* “Total Payout” will consist of all entry fees plus additional sponsored cash.
* “Total Payout” will be divided by Class: Class A gets 45%, Class B gets 33% and Class C gets 22%
* Competitor Payout will be calculated by respective Class Totals: first 45%, second 33%, third 22%
Championship Points
* Each driver must be a WoodsBuggy.com member to be awarded points.
* Points will be awarded based on qualifying class. Class A = 50 Class B = 40 Class C = 30
* Additional points will be awarded based on position per class. 1st=10, 2nd=8, 3rd=6, 4th=4, 5th=2
* Championship Point Winner will be determined by the Total Points from the best 3 events.
* Championship Points Winners will receive a Trophy and Bragging Rights (No Money
DNF (Did Not Finish) Rules
* A DNF time will be calculated by adding 1 extra second to the slowest time.
* Once the entire vehicle crosses the start line, the run counts
* If vehicle breaks down during a run or does not finish the race, driver is given a DNF
* No rut digging... Once forward motion stops, run is over and the driver is given a DNF
* If the driver hits a tree and backs up, the driver can continue the race.
* If the vehicle breaks down at the starting line, the driver is allowed to move to the back of the line. After all other competitors have completed the respective race, 5 additional minutes will be allowed to finish repairs.
* If vehicle can not compete after 5 minute repair time, driver is given a DNF.
* Vehicles that break the finish line beam but do not make it to the top of the hill are penalized 2 seconds.
Additional Rules and Regulations
* All Park Rules will be stricty enforced and supercede any Woodsbuggy rules.
* All Timer Failures will be an automatic re-run for that copetitor.
* Bolted tires are allowed unless park rules prohibit bolted tires.
* All drivers must register and pay a $25 entry fee for each event.
* All rules and regulations apply equally to all 2 wheel drive vehicles and all 4 wheel drive vehicles
* One buggy per driver and one driver per buggy (with the exception of a rookie driver or family member).
* No passengers allowed. (with the exception of a parent for a rookie driver)
* All vehicles must pass a Technical Inspection before the races begin.
* DOT approved helmets are mandatory for every driver.
* All drivers must sign a WoodsBuggy waiver in addition to any park waivers.
* All drivers must attend the drivers meeting before the race for each event.
* All drivers must qualify for each event regardless of any previous events.
