I cant even remember how long ive been coming to this site.

Does anyone know how long it has been around?

Who started it?

Any original members still around?

Why was it started?


This is one of the largest local 4x4 communities around. I was just curious about its beginnings and how it grew to what it is today.
 
lol. i know the history of me. Dec 2005 is when i finally registered.

me too, IIRC it wasnt down for too long, I'm guessing it reopened in Feb-March 2005.

I thought this was an offshoot of some toyota board in the late 90s, NCTORA or some nonsense? Where's Rich...
 
Back in the 00 or 01 era this was the state branch of TTORA. After some issues, we broke off and became NC Tacomas. It slowly grew to other rigs and was renamed in late 03 sometime in 04 as NC4x4. Shut down due to more issues and is now the nc board we know now. I was one of the original members from the first board. I went by MxWake338. Rich was also an original member from the TTORA days . I know a few others who came in on the original board then some who were first members when renamed to nc tacomas but I haven't talked to or seen them on the forums in ages. Not sure how many of them are still around. I think another Josh ( taznumbr1) or whatever his name is on here now was an originaly member of the ttora section or he may have joined when it became nctacomas.

Just playin.... very informative though I didnt know it started out as a Toyota site.
 
I remember a board crash, and everybody had to re-create accounts? Was that in Mar '05?
I got my Runner 5/03, pretty sure I joined around that time.

I was but it expired and I just never renewed. Why don't you pay it for me since fire fighter salaries in nc suck lol :flipoff2:

Well, if you are a fire fighter it should be free!!! But since the city doesnt pay for this site guess that cant happen.
 
Remember Patrick Emmons whining about his Jeep and wanting a car 1 week then his Jeep the next and then the pics of Rich standing on it when he flopped it on the road in Dayton
 
what is the difference between yellow/red diamond?
 
I joined up when Mickey ran the board, it crashed, and some kid stole my userid when the board "re-opened", so I had to put a _ in my name.

I also remember some kid on the old board that had a chevy and put hehe at the end of every sentence. I'm glad that's gone

Speakin of, does anyone go to Dayton anymore? Is it still an invite only place and no ones invited any more or........ Always wanted to go but once my rig finally got even close to being capable of trying the place, no one goes.

How could I forget Pless and Stankoma. He was easy to spot with his name on his tailgate. Craig Carter was another one and Taylor Batten. Tacomadude's ( Andy Klutz) buddy Derek, Dave Panella, Joe Moranski. Anyone ever hear from those guys. What about Patrick Bahn. Last I remember he was at Duke I think, went overseas for a semester of school back in like 01 or so and kinda dropped off after that.

Hey Duane if your interested in Dayton and I ever get the time to go maybe we could work something out. I've gotten several invites from some of the regulars there wether it be riding or driving, but never got a chance to go.
