History of NC4x4

yup. tons of it.

by the way. your missing out on the garage. buy a red diamond!

I guess I joined sometime in 03. I remember pancake's illegible posts and the 'hehe' dude.

Pless was my neighbor back in Raleigh, still got the taco, finally new tires, no more name on his tailgate though. We're plannin' a trip to URE, just gotta get a solid day to do it. Work seems to be making him too busy to post here during the day.

I definitely remember the "hehe" poster. Who was that?

I originally signed up at some point before the ownership change but didn't post much. The tech was all yota. haha. Understanding the origins of the site it all makes sense now.

I think the hehe guy was named Chad and his board name was something like 85scottsdale. I wheeled with him and i think his brother once when he had his smoking samurai mosquito killer

Dayton is invite only... a good way to get an invite is to hang out / join the Trailblazers.

I have no idea when I first joined, was back after it became NC4x4. Knew quite a few of the gang from the various "email" lists over the years. Quite a few of us old timers were participating on the CNC email list back when 33s were HUGE! (So 97-2000ish when TJs were new)

That was uh... 10 vehicles ago or so I think for me? I won't drag OTHER names into this but quite a few rig/tow rig changes in the crew, I am not the only one who cannot leave well enough alone!!

[My first trail ride in NC was 1994 with Carolina TrailBlazers to Pond Mtn..now closed]

Most of the history is correct, except the board didn't crash. The previous owner shut it down, due to frustration with assholes on the board. He transferred everything to me and I got a group of guys together, some the original, some not, and we put together what you now see. Josh, taznumber1 is probably the only original staff left before I took it over, and he's still around doing stuff in the background. We purchased new software, the old board software wasn't compatible so we couldn't move the accounts over, so we just started from scratch.

I was around in the ncttora days, back when 33's were cool, and dreamed of sas'ing my tacoma. Lost interest, grew up a little and realized a beater rig was a hell of alot cooler than a lifted tacoma.

Man i remember those days. Miss Bruce laying it out straight. I think Rob and i were the only guys on here with jeeps. Rich always getting pissed about people calling the FJ a jeep. Fawker!. I egged it on whenever i could.

I was a member of TN TTORA way back when all the ugly board feud crap went down. I moved down here in 02 and joined the old nc4x4 with Mikey etc... There wasn't a NC chapter of TTORA at that time. I lurk on here for hours every day. Good people and good info on here (except Chase). :flipoff2:

I don't remember how long I have been coming here, but it has been at least before the board shut down.

I remember that ride and your blazer.
We need Bruce to post all of the places we have lost over the last few years so people will realize how important it is to respond to the Tellico EA release.

I don't have a clue to what happened during the origination of this site but...
Organizations are always better after an explosion of big heads and rulers having a pissing contest and it's reopened by people who had nothing to do with it and don't give a shit. I see it from site to site. Usually one person tries to throw the ace card over another of close ranks and it's on from there until it escalates to no end. But then having many partners regroup after all said and done sharing tasks and responsibilities makes for a much more pleasurable site. Kinda like working as a team instead of the ole rank system. I really enjoy this site more than others mainly because of that but also because there's every walk of life and always someone willing to teach you something. There's no better knowledge than from experience by word of mouth...

I was here just long enough before Mike shut it down to get addicted to it! Was happy when Rob brought it back up.

NC4X4

It would be nice to hear from Mike again. I bet his kid has grown a bunch.
There were a bunch of butt holes posting at the time the board shut down, and it got kinda bad awhile back also. Seems to be going pretty well now, thanks to Rob and his "wisdom".(and all the help he gets).
James is right about all the loses, we stand to lose a lot more places to ride during the next 3.5 years and possibly beyond.

craig carter is my brother in-law. He had a Rubicon for awhile, sold it, now he's got another tacoma.
