Well, I was involved in a hit and run this morning. Turning left onto hilsborough street off Blue ridge on my way to campus, I was in the the right left turn lane, and he was in the one of the left, and he decided to just merge over into me in the middle of the interstion. I was in my dad's 05 cavalier, so I guess he didn't see me. We both pulled off, me just onto the edge of the road, him that gravel road along hilsborough street and the train tracks, with his license plate facing away from me. I immediately called my father and got out and so did he and when he saw me calling, he said "Woah, before we get the feds involved..." I said, I'm just calling my dad and he said ok. We stood there for a second and he said "I'm going to get my registration while I talked to my dad. He jumped in the seat of his truck, turned it on, and floored it in reverse all the way down that gravel road so I couldn't catch his tag number. He ended up making far enough before he turned around so I didn't get the tag. Cops came and pretty much said, they can take a report, but there isn't really a way to catch the guy.

I stopped at the Capital city lumber yard place just the other side of the tracks later today to see if they had any cameras that could see over there, and he checked but they didn't. And any suggestions on body shops in raleigh?

Key points -
Call 911 immediately
Get tag number immediately.

Oh and it was at like exactly 9:45 this morning, if any one by any chance was driving through there, noticed us, and took down a tag number, hahah.

what's the truck look like? maybe people can keep their eye out for a truck (what ever it was) with some dent/scratches in the color of your dads car.

A late 90's early 00's Red F-150, it probably was 4wd. The only damage he got that I noticed was the passenger fender was bent directly behind the headlight. The guy was a 6'ish white male in his 50's or so. Today he was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans, graying brown hair and facial hair.

The lierjet is tan.

man that sucks..

I was in a hit an run two years ago and nothing ever came of it... Even had the plates from a witness, the cops didn't do anything with it.

Well if i ever get in accident thats my fault I know what to do now! :flipoff2: ha ha..

Good luck finding the guy though, I hate people like that!

how did the cop write it up? He didn't write it up as a "no fault" accident did he? I had this happen to a friend of mine and his insurance went up

Good luck with that. You are not as lucky as one of my buddies was. He and his family were in Ohio(i think) They were crusing along at 55-60 when a guy pulled out from a store and t-boned them, spinning them around several times. They ended up facing the direction they came from. Kieth immediatly floored it to chase the hit and runner but the axle was all jacked up, so he could'nt drive. He got out to look at his car and noticed the other car's front bumper had ripped off and was sticking into his rear fender and trunk. The bumper had a front liscense plate attatched to it...LOL. The cops found the culprit at home, drunk, within 15 mins.

shouldnt be too hard to catch if he has a routine. It would take your time though. Just wait near that turn every tuesday around that time and see if hes making a routine commute.

... and then what, even if he sees him? Unf. he will have a very, very hard time PROVING that it is one and the same guy, having no recorded evidence from the scene of the crime. Clearly dude is sketchy, confronting him could be potentially dangerous.

I think this is one of those things you consider an unfortunate deposit into the Kharma bank... someday hopefully you'll get a withdrawal or two ;-)

oh uh, sorry about that.......uhh, i had to get somewhere quick....

j/k hope shiit works out for you.

fuggit, we're in college an still bullet proof, duhh. :flipoff2: if you do happen to figure out his routine and need someone to ride along in case of a confrontation, shoot me a pm, id be happy to.

Maryland is already making you soft, Run, run away now.:flipoff2:

hahahahaha

THAT would be funny. Start hitting him with the dodge. :D

We could try out my tube bumpers on him next tuesday. They'll be on and only in primer, so they won't get too damaged, can't say the same about his truck.....

haha thats the best answer yet.

but seriously, try to spot him again in a routine. let some of us on here know and we help out with whatever course of action you take

curb stomp?

im kidding, im kidding.......

I think he's just gonna piss in his window on a nice day.

That would be confusing at a stoplight. People in front of you stop, person A jumps out, and starts peeing in the window of the truck in front of him.

he should follow him and figure out where he is going. when the dude gets out and goes inside, he needs to get under the dudes truck with a few hose clamps and wheel weights. strap a few of those bad boys to his rear ds. the dudes life wil suuuuckkkkk till he figures out what the problem is. an if he's stubborn and keeps driving like that, he'll have to replace his u-joints.

I like that idea, but that is a gateway for all sorts of trouble with the law and any passerbys.

I was thinking if you see him just follow him to work (if he has a job), wait till he parks, take a tire off his car and put it in your truck. Then go find the biggest hill you can find and..... poof, the ol dissapearing tire trick. He will be amazed by your magic!
