Hitachi power tools

My pops bought me a hitachi power tool kit for Christmas. I got a flash light, drill and sawzall. I've never seen 18v batteries this small. Is this kit a cheap knock off of the tools that use the big 18v batteries?

Are the batteries lithium ion I had a Milwaukee see like that and those little batteries are strong and will not fade off with power it is strong then just dead no in between
 
You will enjoy it they are so much stronger and last a lot longer then the old heavy batteries
 
They are smaller but the price isn't. Those batteries aren't cheap, but they do work much better...until they die permanently. That's not a bad tool kit though, now go buy the matching impact driver then wonder why you've gone so long without one.

my pawpaw and uncle do alot of odd job type stuff for people and the just finished build my grandparents house last year and those 18v makitas are the only thing that i havnt seen the break or wear out, crazy light too.
 
You'll love that set. The Lithium Ion batteries are lighter and like said above will have full power until the very end. One screw will go in full power and the next, the drill won't move. They do cost more but IMO are well worth it.
 
Another vote for the impact driver, I use mine all the time when wrenching. W 3/8" driver and extentions, w a Ujoint wrapped w ductape on the end it can help alot w removeing hard to reach bolts fast. Break all the larger bolts loose w a 1/2" ratchet, and use the driver to quickly remove the bolts. Also installs bolts fast. Great for bellhousings and lugnuts too. My Ryobi will break loose fastners in aluminum w ease.
