My wifes family has a house down and Holden Beach and we usually go in June right after the kids get out of school. My brother in law and I were chatting this weekend about doing some charter fishing when we go down there this year but i dont know where to begin.
I have never been but he grew up fishing on the reefs and offshore in south florida. Does anyone have a recommendation of which charter service to use or ones to avoid? We would like to do a half day since one of my kids will be with me (14yo) and i am just as interested in keeping and eating the fish as catching them.
Looks like most of the services are around $500 for a half day plus tips and whatever the fuel surcharge is these days (probably another $500!)
