Anybody ever used Home Advisor to advertise their services? I looked into it a few months ago and entered my phone number and email like a dumbass, and now they call me every other day saying they have lots of business for me in my area. I know any kind of advertising is good but not sure of it's worth the investment or not. I always get really good advice from you guys, so I'm just looking for some guidance. Thanks fellers.

Home Advisor sucks as far as I'm concerned and I'll never use them again. Somehow, I'll bet I'm not the only one.

My AC quit, compressor failed. Unit is over 25 years old. Started looking for quotes, made the mistake of giving Home Advisor my info to which they were supposed to match me with 3 contractors for quotes. The only one they matched was Sears Home Improvement. That was total BS. You can't tell me that out of all the HVAC contractors in the Greensboro/Danville area, A non local, Sears authorized contractor was the only one.

Got a call from an agent within a couple of minutes, I set an appointment anyways. Was told that they would call to confirm, which they did twice. Then I got a call the day of the appointment saying that I cancelled the appointment and they wanted to know why I did that. I never cancelled and told the girl so. I also told her that I had two confirming calls from them. When I told them that either they got someone out that day or don't bother me again, I got hung up on. 4 hours later, got another call asking for another chance, with them saying they overbooked. Nope, the agent that hung up on me blew any chance of me talking to them.

Got a local guy who is going to do the job at a really good price.

Screw Home Advisor, they only recommend a contractor who has paid them to be recommended.

I tried them for quotes on garage doors. Got 1 quote, & the second guy never showed. Called another guy I somewhat knew, & ended up using him. But he did tell me he contracted with HA one time, for about 6 months. Said they charge you $75 for every lead or call you get, through them. He said it was costing him Too much for BS calls. Even had a Mistaken call from a woman in New York. But they still charged him for that call. That's when he dropped them!
