3G alternator . found one sight the Guy made a tig welder out of one he was not to clear on what he did to by pass the volt regulator . I would like to make a stick welder the reason for the 3g is I have a spare high amp one
does any one Know/have done one

if you are talking about making emergency trail repairs, If you have 2 batteries you can stick weld with them and some jumper cables.

thanks for the replies /I the wheeln one /but I Im looking for info on the ford 3g /4g alt if any one
Knows?
have seen just about every google friendly sight they have to offer no ford 3g/4g alt that
has clear info on how to by pass the volt reg to get full amprage
Thanks

I have one mounted on my 50 Willys but used the standard 62 amp.G.M. alt.Used it 3 times on the first trail ride with it.Best used upgrade I have done.Plans are to get a kit to upgrade the alt.to 100 amps.I know this doesn't help you with that Ford alt. There might be a GOOD reason why there isn't any info out there for it in that aplication.

I may be wrong but I think the reason the ford alt. is not used alot is because the voltage has to be rectified to dc. If there is no rectifier then the output is ac. The gm alt. seems to be the best way to do it.

A few writeups I've seen is to use the ford "large case" alt, whatever that is since it's externally regulated and usually is a 100 amp model. FWIW, the Delco is easy to de-regulate and works well for most people. I was in the process of doing a weldernator until my truck's tranny took a dump.
