Hot Violin Girls

Nice, I saw some band open up for Beck about 10yrs ago in Charlotte and they had a guy playing an electric violin throwin down some Tom Morello type stuff. Never woulda thought it possible.
 
i was at a Dashboard Confessional show where they brought out a female elec violinist for one of their songs.
 
though there are people that can do some sweet things with violins I have to call B.S. on this one. a lot of those were sounds were very unique guitar sounds such as a pick sliding up strings, palm muting etc. you can disagree and I very well may be wrongI don't think they were actually playing that.

you can't disguise the stringed instrument sound

I'll be one to disagree then. You can palm mute a violin and possibly mimic a pick slide with a bow, plus with the aid of pedals and everything else I am going to say they are playing that. Now, is the recording from when they are doing the video? Doubtful.

I hate to agree with you, but I think that is legitimate too. I have a friend that plays pink floyds the wall and makes her fiddle sound like the telephone ringing over the phone by plucking and vibrating her fingers acoustically.
 
yeah, I just took a second look at it. Could be some bs, but there were some parts that sounded like they were playing violins........... well bs or not its still cool and so now we can refresh our palette, http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1756378 I swear if I were half as good as this kid by now I might actually be getting somewhere.

Not saying they are but its entirely possible. Played cello for 10 years and its amazing what some of these people can do
