Hotels around Boone and Asheville

What are some good/favored hotels around Boone (and surrounding area) and in Asheville.

Nice places, no dirtbagging.

Boone has a lot of new hotels up there.

I'd avoid the Elk Motel though.

As for Asheville, I reckon it depends on your funds. The Omni Grove Park Inn is pretty ballin'. Grand Bohemian is pricy, but... interesting?

We stayed at Haywood Park Hotel in downtown Asheville last year. Used to be an old department store that was converted. Pretty cool. Room was nice and it’s close to a lot of stuff. Price was pretty reasonable.

If you want downtown there are a few nice hotels with rooftop restaurants and bars. The newest is Embassy Suites, Cambria hotel, Indigo hotel, The AC hotel. That being said none will be cheap and all will put you in the middle of the homeless and buskers.

I don't knwo sh$t about any of the others, but IME Embassey Suites is consistently a fantastic deal for the $$. Use your HHonors account and get AARP or other discounts. The buildings are always the same, with 2-room suites (bedroom with and outer "den"), really nice if you and partner / kiddos have different sleep schedules. Includes a nice hot breakfast + bar, usually a handmade omelette bar, and very frequently happy hour w/ free drinks.
Its very "corporate" feeling though, not the typical lowkey thing representative of the locals.

It’s only been open about a month, it’s nice with the best rooftop views in downtown.

If you’re not dead set on a hotel my sister has a nice whole house AirBNB right off I-40 in Swannanoa less that 10 minute drive to downtown Asheville.
