how can I fix speedometer?

have a 84 chevy 4x4 truck with a 4cyl. cummings diesel, 93 NV4500, & 3.42 gears. after completing this truck noticed the speedometer is 10mph slow. any ideas how I can fix it so speedometer is right? thanks!

What transfercase is behind it? Are you using a cable driven speedometer setup?

it's a 205 transfercase.

you are going to need the right speedo gear...but I doubt you have a cummings motor in there

how do i know what speedo gear to get?

Usually each tooth is worth 2 miles per hour. So you need it to turn faster. So subtract 5 teeth from the one you have should tell you what you need.
