is a d60 out of a 03 dodge? It has the CAD, unit bearings, ball joints, and 8x170 wheel pattern correct? anything else not desirable? Is it worth messing with?
 
I believe it has odd spline counts as well... I would say that if it is cheap enough, or you have a dodge that it is going into, it might be worth it... but if you are switching the brackets and such anyways, Id skip it...
 
I'd be getting it for next to nothing with no idea of what i'd do with it right now. I just thought if it was something worth having I'd pick it up now and save it until I found a need for it.
 
well for cheap it might be worth having, depending on the tire size you want to end up with... you can always get upgraded shafts that get rid of the CAD, but big tires will kill the unit bearing over time... there is a standard hub upgrade made for them, but it is $$$$$$$... wonder if you could make a f450 unit bearing work?

also, the knuckles are built so that the balljoints are in the opposite configuration as normal, so no other knuckles will swap on, therefore inner and outers would need replaced.... but if its cheap, a set of Crane/Solid knuckles might not be such a stretch...

Also, the dodge fronts are wider, iirc than a standard 60, if it matters...
 
I guess I'm primarily worried about the CAD being a strength issue. Like I said, I'm not sure what I'd use it for right now, just seems like it's to good of a deal for me to pass up.
 
I think this was alluded to earlier, but they are 32 spline inners, so I'm not sure what kind of options there are for shafts/locker.
 
if it is out of a 2003 dodge it would not be a d60 it would be a amm 9.25. 2003 was the new body style year for dodge 2500 and 3500s. It would have to be a 2002 and down to be a d60
 
I suppose having the right information available will help with my question. The axles are from a 97, not a 2003 as previously stated. So now that it is indeed a d60, everything still apply?
 
yeah, 97 would be d60... as said, for the right amount of cheapness you could upgrade the weak parts, but it would just be polishing crap IMO... if you arent wanting to go above 38s w/ a lighter vehicle though, Id say its worth it....
 
I was looking at one a while back and im pretty sure I found knuckles that run a chevy spindle. But I cant remember where
