Type the word HERE and then highlight it with your mouse then click on the insert/edit link icon and enter the web address you want to associate with the word HERE.

^ This. The insert/edit link button looks like a chain. And it's easier to type the word that you want to use as a link, then go back and highlight it and hit the button to paste your link. If you type the word and then immediately try to insert the link, sometimes it doesn't realize you're done linking, and makes everything else that you type a link, too.
We should be getting a software update in the next month or so that fixes a lot of little issues like that.
