I had just read nctom's thread about his friends accident when I saw this. Just one ratchet strap!

COme on...The headache rack keeps it from going forward and the attachment is lowered so it cant go backwards it safe *rolls eyes*

I can hear him now..." I do it all the time, I ain't going far!"

I came up behind him at the light. Just had to get a picture. I got around him pretty quick
There was a decent right hand turn then a steep hill coming up.

It's a gooseneck trailer. We can see from the angle, but it might be parked against the neck and with the plows down I don't think there's much chance of it moving.

Really? Maybe the laws are different in TN, but AFAIK, to be 'legal' it must be tied down on all 4 corners, using 4 separate tiedowns. With good chains/binders, you could flop that trailer on it's side and not lose the tractor, think what would happen like it is if someone t-boned that trailer, the tractor might end up on top of them, bet the driver of the truck would be responsible too if the tractor killed them...

Not saying I haven't seen similar, but there is no way that is 'safe'...

When I put a bicycle in the bed of my Silverado I strap it down, or bungee it so it doesn't move at least.

Almost, impossible, to go forward, but those forward turned plows, aren't going to hold much in reverse. And that I strap, will let the tires bounce. If it rolled back, & the ramps, were lucky enough to hold it, the ASS end of the tow rig, would be in the air! And I bet he dont got no AIR Brakes!
