Tore my 9.25 apart bc thought I just had a bad inner shaft seal got the inner housing down on pass side and found this

Pretty sure that shaft had a clip o it to keep it in place wth causes this in these pos axles?? Just a bad clip came loose? Fluid looks like baby shit so I'm guessing seal is bad after all driver side is tight and no leaks...
 
I'm assuming this bearing is bad has a lot of play in it and shaft wobbles when put together!? Any input this is my first ifs diff tear down so far it's not to bad just stupid ass engineering really or am I being straight axle bias??

Upon further investigation there is no snap ring for that shaft so getting new bearing and throwing back together!!
 
Mine had no retainer on drivers side, bearing was sloppy too. I just put a seal in and knocked the shaft in with a block of wood.

Been 5k miles with no issues, no noise, no leaks.
 
My housing shaft had the snap ring on it driver side has the snap ring inside diff from what I've seen! Gonna replace bearing and seal and roll on with it!
