Hey guys I was searching around online with no luck about how to become a certified vehicle inspector.

Does anyone know the process involved in becoming certified or licensed?

thanks

Your local community college should have classes usually at night. Mine was paid for by the Chevrolet dealership I worked. First you do the safety portion which if iirc took 2 nights. Then you do your emissions classes that took 2 nights as well I think.

Yea, check out the local community college. It's not a very fun class. Pretty boring.

Ok good deal guys thanks.

I'm actually going to school at ECU currently but all check out Pitt Community College to see if they offer it and how much $$ it is.

Yeah they're boring as hell.

Dont you still need a sponsor? It used to be that you needed to service x amount of cars a week. If your a dealer then you need to sell a certain amount of cars a week. It also use to be that you had to be open for general public if you dont have the inventory to cover a certain amount of inspections. You should be able to take the classes at your local community college but you need a station to get registered with to do inspections. Alot of work if you dont have a job lined up.
