The site everyone has always refered to to get the "how to" on making your own axle disconnect ( low buck posi lock ) has been deleted and no other "great" thread could be found- but I found one- for any newbi trying to find this info and pix to make this mod on their problem prone DISCO front end - here it is. The link that everyone has used for years ( the earthlink one ) is long gone- but this guy has one even better anyhow!

Hope this helps anyone needing this info! I know it helped me at one time!

If one HAS a lot of money- then by all means that would be the way to. THIS is an option for DIY'ers with little money- this cost me less than $30 to build- a pretty sizable difference from the $200 that most kits run.

$5 lawn mower throttle cable and that's it. I busted the stock disco apart and just attached the cable to the diaphram. The spiders are welded and my GF just switches in and out if she needs to turn or anything on the trail.

I'm just not a mechanically inclined when it comes to fabbing parts. I can take stuff out and put stuff in following instructions.
It is a cool set up that is shown. very creative.
My vacuum failed on the trail. Found when I could not get my front wheel to climb up a 12" high rock without goosing it to push over. One of the guys in the group crawled under and inverted the fork assembly to look it for the rest of the weekend.

very easy to do, all you need is a lawn mower throttle cable and a grinder. I'll send this unit to you for $50 and shipping if you like.
