this past june my 96 jeep cherokee was stolen while i was at work and wrecked. i'm pretty sure its totaled, front end is pretty bad. Should i scrap it all, part some of it and scrap the rest, just trying to figure out how to get the most back for it i can. engine and rear end are still good. able to crank right up after crash. how much can i get for the engine, transmission & transfer case, rearend? any

your best bet might just be to let insurance pay you for it. then go out and get another rig.

Assuming that your uninsured... Part what you can, scrap the rest for scrap metal prices.

Its really hard to tell you what the engine transmission xfer case and rearend is worth without knowing how many miles, what type, etc...

Help us help you.

Engine/Trans/TCase will all be worth some cash if they got close to 100k or so miles. The rear end if it's a D35 it's not even worth trying to sell. Might be able to get $10 for the shafts from some XJ or YJ owner for backups in their polished turd. Good luck and DETAILS man DETAILS! post pics when you get a second.

it is a jeep cherokee country 4x4 with the 4.0 I6 with about 143k miles on it. ran great. it has an aw4 automatic transmission and i believe a 231j transfer case.

for the engine, Transmission, Transfer case, I'd say about $500 assuming there's nothing wrong with any of it. Don't rule out the Front end the T-case being punched out of it was a head on accident. Then you could probably part out Interior items like Seats, Console, random items. Doors go quick too. Wheels and tires are easy to get rid of. Any after market parts? If Insurance is giving you nothing, I'd part it our. You'll certainly get more money out of it that way. Otherwise a junkyard is going to buy it and part it out themselves.
