how's everyone mounting their limiting straps?

I welded half a chain link on the axle and frame, then ran a cable for a temporary "limiting strap". Now that I've got some straps, I'm just curious how to mount them. Is this something that should be mounted in double shear? Or can I weld a stud on the axle/frame and just mount it in single shear?

I use standard shock tabs single shear most of the time.

I made two tabs that mount to the axle and welded them on. The put a bolt between the two tabs. I did the same thing on the frame. It's been that way for over a year and worked great.

I might look into that vs. welding a stud to the frame/axle. . .
