I know the gears from a high pinion won't work in a reg Dana 44, but will the carrier... or better yet a spool that was in a hp44? Any help would be much appreciated.
HP44 internal differences...?

Yes. The carriers (not counting the carrier break for gear ratio) will swap between the two.
