Hugh flea market in Hillsville VA on Labor day

We have been many times.... You could find deals in years past but lately prices have been high as camel cock. I enjoy just seeing the things of yester year. Its a good time

It used to be much better, lots of junk now, but people watching is great

Lived up there for 8 years. Still have a house up there. Went almost every year. Lots of junk, lots of food, lots of strange people to watch. If you are into antiques there are lots of that kinda stuff. Everyone should go at least once to see it.

Like the other guys have said, its worth going at least once. You can find some unique stuff and good deals but not as many as in years past. As for the gunshow in the middle of all this, skip it and save yourself the headache.

The wife and I went one time when we lived in Jefferson, x2 on the prices being JACKED! stuff you'd easily find on the everyday cheap is easily marked 2-3 x higher. With that said, it was a good time. You can find some unusual stuff, and like said earlier, the people watching can be better than your local county fair.

Anybody here go or have gone? Thinking about checking it out this year.
I'll be there, row 1 spaces 417/418 in the VFW lot, stop by and see us,as for the prices I agree they are pretty steep on some stuff but to their defense those people out in the street are payin $1200-$1800 for there spots. We will have a BUNCH of vintage Christmas,70's/80's toys, old quilts, steamer trunks and who knows what else,my wife is still goin thru the house. If you go be sure and get some homemade donuts from the Amish out on the street, you'll see the line.X2 on skippin the gun show, ammo is overpriced, and unless youre a VA resident they wont sell ya a handgun.Everybody needs to go once just be sure and take/bring plenty of water. We see somebody goin out on a stretcher every year from the heat.

You can park there and their will be stuff in that area to look at but the bulk of things/people will be centered around the VFW.There is more inside and around the VFW than you can cover in one day anyway.Hardess and BK is about a mile from the VFW.If you go to the VFW it will be a uphill walk back to your vehicle and if you buy much it will bring the suck.

My advise is to park as close to the VFW as possible(free and paid parking both)and just pay the $2/$3 gate fee and come in the lot,or check out the stuff across the road(free) from the VFW.After you spend all day walking around youll want to be as close to the car as possible. If you plan on maybe buyin alot you might wanna bring a wagon or dollie to push your stuff around or if you can find us you can leave it w us while you look around.

One last thing,it might be a good ideal to pack a disposible poncho, cause it has been known to rain just out of the blue. The only limitations there is how much money you have and how much walking your body can take.
