Hummer H-3 ?

I vote ugly.... and over priced....

Ive ridden in one a few times. They seem to ride as smooth as say a tahoe, and the interior is as nice as any other GM. There is hard plastic everywhere. For the price, I feel there is a bit too much 'alumalook' and not enough aluminum on the accent pieces inside. I like them a lot from the outside, but once you get inside those small windows and HUGE pillars lose their appeal. Even with those huge side mirrors there are big blind spots. The H3 is a vehicle that falls in the category of cars that I love to look at, but would never own, regardless of my budget. Don't take my word for it though, go test drive one for yourself. A lot of people love them. Keep us posted.

I see they're puttin v8's in some now and have read a few reveiws on the highway manners of all of them. Looks like it might be a good beach buggy for someone who lives 2+ hrs from the beach? they look cramped on the inside to me though.

Our team has one. I have driven it a few times and ridden in it more times than I care. They are small on the inside. Visibility is crappy at best. Fuel mileage isnt good. I would never own one. IMO, Hummers are for those people that like attention. The "hey look at me" crowd.

Personally I think all Hummers are fugly. I am sure they make a fine grocery getter :huggy:

The H3 is based on the same platform as the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. The last Hummer H3 rolled off the line at Shreveport on May 24, 2010.

All your replies were about how I thought they were. I have seen some lately for sale that seemed to be good deals for the mileage and age, but i've never even sat in one and it sounds like that would be a quick sit.

there is a member on here with a highly modified one, Recon something or other.

Bosses wife has one and few Been in the shop ,

Everything else falls extremely short of expectations

If you want something big & boxy with huge pillars and square windows, get an FJ Cruiser instead...
I'd put them in a similar "style" class but the FJC is better in almost every way.

Out of the H2 and H3, the H3 looks the best IMO (H1 beats them all though)...

Ive driven in one once, and I was pretty hungover so I don't remember a ton. What I do remember is that the ride was pretty smooth, but the interior is A LOT smaller than it feels it should be. I rode in the back seat on the passenger side. The door panels all stick out A LOT further than they should, so I was constantly smashing my knee against it, and it felt like I didnt have much room in my seat.

I remember feeling that the interior felt very....stout. I felt that the plastic seemed a lot thicker and heavier duty than most cars.

So an H3 is like a fat XJ?

I read 4:56 gears and options like front and rear lockers, 33"= tires were available, but the 4700lb H3s I five has 239 hp and 241 trq. I bet the 5.3 ones are not to bad if you can fit into it but they are in the 30k range if you find one. I also read front headroom 40", not enough for me . You could address the cramped interior and tiny windows by taking the doors off though ! :burnout:
