Hey yall, i bought and had some hummer rims recentered a while back, but im just getting around to mounting them. I bought the light weight inserts from stazworks, but i cant get them in the tire. I was wondering if yall had any tricks or tips that might help. it just seems like the only way to do it is to cut them, but i dont really want to do that, thanks--Chad

Put the insert perpindicular to the tire and stand on the tire so that the insert wedges itself in there. Once you get it inside the tire perpindicularly, put it against a wall and step on one side of the insert so that it rotates the insert into the tire. I weigh 150 lbs and got all 4 of mine in this way within about 30 minutes.

ima give that a try when i get home, i might even snap some pics so i can show you if it doesnt work. i got the insert in perpendicularly with out stepping or anything, but its the rotation part that just doesnt seem to work for me, but ill give it a shot and let you know.

small bottle jack

I've seen pictures on one of the web sites to use a small bottle jack inside the insert to make it oval, then follow the steps in the last post.

Is stazworks the way to go on those humvee wheels?
I used the magnesium inserts before I knew about all the problems.
What's the cost?

I think my stazworks inserts were right between $150 and $160 at my door. I was pleased with them.

Ive got the rubber runflats and they are great. But they are expensive if they dno't come with your wheels. The 12bolt hummer wheels come with the rubber runflats.

What problems?

the inserts were 45 a piece. i used the soapy water and i got the inserts in enough for now, i will have to go around the tire with a prybar and square it up a lil more before i mount the rims. thanks yall.

They like to cut tires if you use them with low air preasure.
How? Just curious, I cut and ground mine way down so its just a spacer and sometimes run no pressure with my 36's. but 3~5 psi is fun to baja with. just hadnt heard that yet.
