i just got a set of 24 bolt military rims, and i plan on running military tires on my yota (they will be recentered). I need to keep the truck streetable, but want it to be capable off road. Ill be on the rocks mostly, so what should i do about runflats? The rims have rubber runflats on them, but ive heard that at low psi they tend to pinch the sidewall. Should i keep the rubbers, or go for pvc inserts?
any input is appreciated

the rubber flats shouldnt give you much issue on cutting the sidewall like the mag ones... and if you want, you can cut down the rubber flats, but they have steel cords in them, so its not so easy...

Id say, run the rubbers, or sell them and get the plastic inserts

If you cut the rubber ones you take out the structure of the run flat and then its not stiff enough to push against the bead and it'll just push up in the middle.

hmm ill try and see if/what i can find some mags for, and i dono when itll be but i am deff gonna need some help recentering... can you get the stamped centers?

FWIW, I've driven an up-armor HMMWV fully loaded up, with only 15-20 psi and never had a problem pinching the tread, and these trucks weigh anywhere from 12-15k lbs when fully decked out and all personnel/equipment/weapons are loaded.

I'd just run the rubber inserts

haha yea they are heavy, just one weights 50-60lbs easy, that was the main concern, my truck is under powered as it is... much less with hummer wheels/tires rubber run flats, and a 3/8s plate center. so say 150lbs at each corner is no good. any other input on the rubber ones? landon i saw a guy on pirate that had chopped the rubbers and says they still work

The mag ones will be the lightest by far. The H1 tire and wheel are a heavy combo in any configuration because like Chris said they are designed to support a very heavy vehicle.
